In March, 1933, TOCHU found high quality sand in Chita Peninsula, Aichi Prefecture and succeeded in developing casting sand.　 Since then, TOCHU recognizes the possibility of sand as industrial material and has been making a great contribution to the growth of the industrial world in Japan, as a good partner of that world in the material field.　 Just after the establishment of the company, TOCHU also started to develop the integrated cast metal production in addition to the casting sand production.　Then, TOCHU developed and expanded new business such as Ordinary steel, Stainless steel and Heat resisting steel business, and recently has developed Aluminum die casting business.　TOCHU is succeeding in the expansion of its business fields by many support and cooperation from customers during more than 75 years from its establishment.
